Description
Following the Cutie Map, Applejack and Rainbow Dash head off to Whinnypeg to find a friendship problem somewhere in the convention center. A con is poised to start when they arrive and they check-in as attendees, ready to search high and low among the staff and the con-goers for whoever needed their help. The only real problem is that the con is a couples retreat, everypony is flashing Applejack and Rainbow Dash knowing looks, and the two of them aren’t together like that.
At least, they haven’t been together like that since they were teenagers …
A novella told in three parts.
Editing by Jetstream and bookplayer. Cover art by mousse.

I like how this developed to the predictable but well-executed finish. Their relationship feels very real, at the expense of some of the adorable awkwardness present for couples like Lumity. My one real critique is that the inciting breakup incident doesn’t make too much sense to me. Like, foal or not, AB is an earth pony. They’re supernaturally durable, even without cartoon logic involved.

I dunno on the durability thing, Applejack freaked out over a more minor accident in Somepony to Watch Over Me (and it was an overreaction, but in saying that, this flashback could serve as a fanon explanation for why she overreacted then, as it could have reminded her of the almost-disaster), and while they might be durable, the accident also cracked Applejack’s pelvis, so it was not a gentle hit, anyway. Durability only gets you so far.
This is pretty fun so far.
