If the intention is to stay true to the dream, and it was indeed in the dream, then the little monologue deserves to stay. BUT, it does feel a bit jarring and out of tone with the rest of the story. Perhaps a ‘more-is-less’ reveal at the end?
This had a nice dreamlike atmosphere through most of it, which ultimately made the seeming concrete reveal at the end not work for me.
